The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been in the spotlight with its latest information regarding the upcoming entrance exam. Students who aim for admission to premier engineering colleges are getting ready for one of the hardest exams in India while they also wait for the announcement from the agency across the country. Not long ago, the NTA has removed the curtain on the exam city selection issue by confirming that candidates will continue to have the privilege to choose their most preferred exam cities. This particular point remains unchanged in the JEE Mains 2026 Registration process, and the present advisory regarding Aadhaar updates is entirely different from the city allotment procedures. This clarification has made thousands of students breathe a sigh of relief who were in the worried state due to the fear of changes.
The examination consists of three papers:
• Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech consists of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and is in CBT format
• Paper 2A for B.Arch comprises Mathematics and Aptitude in CBT mode, and there is also a pen-paper Drawing section
• Paper 2B for B.Planning is completely computerized
JEE Mains 2026 Registration Last Date
Currently, there is no such official announcement regarding the JEE Mains 2026 Registration last date for session 1. Students should frequently check the NTA site for relevant information on the final date. Looking at past experience, the registration typically opens 2-3 months before the date of exam.
Application fee and Required Documents
The tentative application fee (to be confirmed with NTA):
• General/Gen-EWS/OBC male candidates: Rs 1,000 per paper
• Female candidates: Rs 800 per paper
• SC/ST/PwD/3rd gender candidates: Rs 500 per paper
The required documents will be a valid email ID and phone number, Class 10 certificate, Aadhaar card, scanned/ photocopy of signature and photograph and category certificate.
