As the window to apply for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 closes on November 27, many aspirants are having two concerns: either they missed the deadline, or they found some errors in their applications. If that is the case, don’t freak out. Both cases can be dealt with by the National Testing Agency and knowing the JEE Main correction process 2026 can help you from much anguish. NTA will open the JEE Main application window for corrections on 1st December.
Missed the Registration? You Still Have Options
Skipping Session 1 isn’t the end of the line for JEE. What’s better is that NTA will open registrations for Session 2 in January 2026, so you can take the exam again. Over 60% students take Session 2 because it better suits their preparation vis-à-vis board exams or simply because it provides extra time to study.
Your highest score from either session will be used for admission to NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and for JEE Advanced eligibility. But also bear in mind that when you miss out on Session 1, you lose a valuable practice attempt to get you comfortable with the computer-based test. Rest all the documents like Aadhaar card, Class 10 certificates, category certificates, recent photographs, etc should be kept ready and keep an eye on the official NTA website for Session 2 notification.
Made Mistakes? Now there’s a window to correct them
If you have previously submitted your due form for NTA JEE Main and noticed some errors, now you can breathe easy. The NTA JEE Main form correction window will be opened for two days only, i.e., from December 1 to 2, 2025, through the official website.
What You Can Fix:
- Personal details (name of candidate and parents)
- Date of birth & gender
- Category (with valid certificate)
- Documents that have been uploaded (photograph and signature)
- State code of eligibility
- Language of the question paper
- Disability/PwD status
- Exam city preference
What You Can’t Change:
- Mobile no. and Email ID
- Aadhaar-verified details.
Keep a close eye on the official notification when the correction window is released. Once you have made the check, download your admit card and check your city intimation slip to make sure everything is in place. Also, take a printout for future use. Proper planning now can prevent last-minute complications and help you approach JEE Main 2026 with confidence.
