Preparation for the CBSE Class 10 Social Science exam demands hard work and smart work both. The Streamlined syllabus for the session 2025-26 has certain deletions which all students should be aware of to make the best use of their preparation.
What is the importance of knowing about the deleted topics
Since you are so busy, you hardly get any time to sleep. When you are aware of the exact topics removed from the syllabus, you can focus all your energies on the content that matters for examinations. This strategic insight leads to less unnecessary study time, less stress about exams, and a more straightforward road to great results.
What’s Been Removed: Subject by Subject
History: (India and the Contemporary World–II)
Great news for history buffs! The History part is still the same—no topics have been cut. So, make sure you study all the history material listed in the regular syllabus.
Geography: (Contemporary India–II)
The Geography syllabus has been trimmed a bit here and there:
Resources and Development: The part about resource types has been taken out.
Forest and Wildlife: There are quite a few cuts in this part, like the ideas about biodiversity, details about animals and plants in India, discussions about forests disappearing, and examples like the Asiatic Cheetah, how the Himalayan Yew is being saved, and the Project Tiger program.
Agriculture: The part about how globalization affects Indian farming is gone.
Manufacturing Industries: A good amount has been cut here, like the connection between markets and factories, details about cotton and jute, sugar making, iron and steel, and the cement business.
Also Read: CBSE Class 10 & 12 Date Sheet 2026
Economics: (Understanding Economic Development)
Just like History, the Economics section hasn’t been changed. You need to study the whole syllabus.
Political Science: (Democratic Politics–II)
This subject has the biggest changes, with whole chapters being removed:
Chapters Completely Gone:
- Democracy and Diversity (The whole chapter)
- Popular Struggles and Movements (The whole chapter)
- Challenges to Democracy (The whole chapter)
Parts Taken Out:
- Gender, Religion, and Caste: Some pictures from pages 46, 48, and 49 of the textbook aren’t included anymore.
